Our Services

One certified partner for the entire IT asset lifecycle.

From the moment equipment leaves your floor to its final certified disposition, eWaste Solutions manages every step of IT Asset Disposition under one coordinated, documented process. No chain of separate vendors, no gaps in the chain of custody, no guesswork for your compliance team.

What We Do

Nine services. One certified standard.

Whether you need a single laptop wiped or a full data center decommissioned, every service below is delivered to the same R2v3 RIOS and NIST 800-88 standard, and documented the same way. Explore each one in detail.

IT Asset Disposition (ITAD)

The complete end-of-life lifecycle: certified pickup, data destruction, and disposition under one coordinated process with a single documentation package.

Optical Media & Tape Destruction

Certified destruction of CDs, DVDs, Blu-ray discs, and LTO and DAT backup tapes, documented to the same standard as hard drive destruction.

Learn More

Lab & Medical Equipment

HIPAA-compliant processing for medical devices, imaging systems, and clinical IT, with a Business Associate Agreement available as standard practice.

Learn More

Data Sanitization

NIST 800-88 Purge tier certified data removal for equipment being redeployed or returned at lease end, leaving the device fully functional.

The ITAD Lifecycle

One chain of custody, start to finish.

Most vendors hand off your equipment between three or four companies, and the chain of custody breaks at every seam. We own every step.

1

Certified Pickup

Our team comes to you and logs every asset by serial number before it moves.

2

Data Destruction

Every drive destroyed to NIST 800-88 and DOD 5220.22-M standards.

3

Responsible Recycling

R2v3 RIOS certified, zero-to-landfill processing with audited downstream tracking.

4

Documentation

Certificate of Destruction, recycling proof, and environmental report.

5

Audit-Ready

One package your compliance team, examiner, or auditor can rely on.

Full IT Asset Lifecycle Management

What full-service ITAD actually means.

Most organizations retiring IT equipment end up juggling separate vendors for pickup, data destruction, and recycling, each with its own paperwork and its own gaps in the chain of custody. IT Asset Disposition consolidates all of it under a single certified process. Your asset inventory, your data destruction, and your final disposition are handled by the same team, documented the same way, and delivered as one package your compliance team can actually use.

eWaste Solutions has managed this process for hospitals, banks, universities, government agencies, data centers, and corporations across New England since 2005. Every service we offer is a component of that lifecycle, and every one is held to the same certified standard.

Data destruction and sanitization

For equipment reaching true end of life, secure data destruction physically destroys every data-bearing device to NIST 800-88 and DOD 5220.22-M standards. Hard drive shredding reduces HDDs, SSDs, and NVMe drives to particles, the only method that reliably works across every drive type. For the highest assurance, on-site data destruction brings our shredding equipment to your facility so drives never leave intact. When equipment is being redeployed or returned at lease end, data sanitization removes data to the NIST 800-88 Purge tier while keeping the device fully functional.

Recycling and disposition

Every device we process is handled through our R2v3 RIOS certified electronics recycling program, with independently audited, zero-to-landfill downstream tracking and a full environmental impact report for your ESG reporting. We also handle specialized streams: optical media and backup tape destruction, and HIPAA-compliant lab and medical equipment recycling with a Business Associate Agreement available as standard practice.

Projects at scale

For large moves, data center decommissioning handles hundreds or thousands of assets against a hard migration deadline, with pre-project planning, per-drive destruction documentation, and one final report covering the entire project.

Who we serve

Every service is tailored to the compliance framework each industry answers to. Explore the industries we serve, from HIPAA-bound hospitals to ITAR-controlled government contractors, to see how the same certified process is matched to your sector's exact requirements.

The Federal Standard

Not all data destruction is equal.

NIST 800-88 defines three tiers of media sanitization. A factory reset does not meet any of them. Here is what actually protects you.

Tier 1
Clear

A logical overwrite that protects against simple, non-invasive recovery. Fine for low-sensitivity devices staying inside your organization.

Best for: internal reuse, low-risk data
Tier 2
Purge

Renders data unrecoverable even against laboratory attacks, while leaving the device functional. The standard for redeployment and lease returns.

Best for: redeployed and leased assets
What we do
Tier 3
Destroy

Physical destruction to particle level. No recovery is possible by any known method. The highest assurance for sensitive data at true end of life.

Best for: PHI, financial, classified data
Why Method Matters

A hole in a drive is not destruction.

Older methods leave recoverable data or fail entirely on modern drives. Only one approach reliably works across every drive type.

Factory Reset

Removes the file pointer, not the data. Fully recoverable with free forensic tools.

Not destruction
Degaussing

Uses magnetic fields. Does nothing at all to solid-state drives (SSD, NVMe).

Fails on SSDs
Drilling / Hammering

Leaves large sections of the platter physically intact, and often still readable.

Partial only
Industrial Shredding

Reduces any drive to particles. No recovery possible, on HDD, SSD, or NVMe alike.

What Actually Sets Us Apart

The credentials most vendors can't claim.

Anyone can say "certified." Very few New England recyclers hold this full stack, and fewer still are independently audited on it every year.

ITAR Approved

DDTC Reg. M-53509

Registered with the U.S. State Department to handle defense-controlled equipment. The single credential most regional ITAD vendors simply do not have.

One of the most rigorous certifications in electronics recycling. Our zero-to-landfill downstream chain is audited annually by Perry Johnson Registrars, not self-declared.

Common Questions

Questions about our services.

IT Asset Disposition is the complete lifecycle process: asset inventory, certified data destruction, and responsible disposition, delivered as one coordinated service with full documentation. Electronics recycling is one component of that process, the responsible disposition step. eWaste Solutions provides both under the same certified standard, so you get a single accountable partner instead of a chain of vendors.
For a small volume of end-of-life equipment, IT Asset Disposition covers it end to end: we pick up, destroy the data on every drive, recycle the hardware responsibly, and issue you a Certificate of Destruction. There is no minimum volume, so a handful of laptops gets the same certified process as a full office.
Every data destruction job produces a Certificate of Destruction listing each device by serial number, the destruction method, the date, and the certifying technician. Our methods meet or exceed NIST 800-88 and DOD 5220.22-M, the same standards used by federal agencies. For maximum assurance we also offer on-site destruction, where drives are physically shredded at your location before anything leaves the building.
Yes. For organizations that cannot let data-bearing devices leave the building intact, we bring certified mobile shredding equipment directly to your facility. Your staff witnesses the destruction, and Certificates of Destruction are issued on-site the same day.
Yes. Data Center Decommissioning is built for scale, from partial rack refreshes to full facility closures. We plan the project up front with asset inventory and tagging, coordinate pickup around your migration or lease deadline, destroy every drive to NIST 800-88 standards, and deliver one complete documentation package.
Depending on the service, you receive an Asset Inventory Report, a Certificate of Destruction by serial number, a Certificate of Recycling, and an environmental impact report suitable for ESG disclosures. Everything is formatted for HIPAA, GLBA, FERPA, SOC 2, and other compliance frameworks.
